Axle Weighing Pads Verify Materials Compositionfor Pneutrol

A market leader in the design, development and manufacture of industrial process control solutions is using portable weigh-bridges to verify materials produced by the Rapid International continuous mixing plants.

Pneutrol International Limited has purchased four sets of APOLLO PT300 portable static weighpads from Vehicle Weighing Solutions Ltd (VWS) to verify the weight and composition of different mixtures of Hydraulically Bound Materials used in the highways, construction, waste management and utilities sectors.

VWS Cheif Awarded CIWM Industry Leader of the Year 2015

Julian Glasspole, Managing Director of Vehicle Weighing Solutions Ltd (VWS) and Chairman of the AW family of companies, has been awarded the prestigious title of Industry Leader Of the Year 2015 by the Chartered Institute of Waste Management (CIWM).

Julian, who was chosen for his business flair, strong worth ethic and commitment to the industry said: “It was a huge honour to be shortlisted alongside such high calibre contenders and I’m over the moon to have been selected as the winner. 2015 has been an amazing year and this award is really down to the hard work and dedication of the whole team at Vehicle Weighing Solutions and Applied Weighing.”

KEL-BERG Installs Weighbridge for Type Approval Certification

As part of the requirements of the Whole Vehicle Type Approval certification process, KEL-BERG®, a manufacturer of commercial trailers and bodies, has installed a Fixed Axle Weighbridge from Vehicle Weighing Solutions Ltd (VWS) at its premises to weigh every trailer and declare the correct weight of its vehicles.

Engineering Company Reveals Expansion Plans During MP Visit

On Friday 25 September Toby Perkins, Member of Parliament for Chesterfield, visited the premises of local engineering company Vehicle Weighing Solutions Ltd (VWS), to view the company’s new 12,000 ft. installation centre at the Ireland Industrial Estate, Adelphi Way, Staveley, Chesterfield and heard about their plans for further expansion.

Vehicle Weighing Solutions is the UK market leader in vehicle on board weighing, bin weighing and axle weighing systems. The company’s weighing systems are designed and manufactured in Reading and since 2009 installation have been carried out in Chesterfield, previously at Sheepbridge Business Centre.

A Breathe of Fresh Air Sweeps into VWS

The UK market leader in vehicle on-board weighing systems, wheeled bin-weighing and load protection systems, Vehicle Weighing Solutions Ltd (VWS), has recently appointed Nick Preston as Sales Manager.

Nick has an impressive 15 year track record in the waste management sector, having worked in senior Business Development roles for a number of leading vehicle manufacturers. Nick will be focusing on VWS’ EnviroWeigh bin-weighing system and the VOPS2 (Vehicle Overload Protection System), which is an effective overload warning system currently undergoing trials for application to Sweepers as they are prone to overloading.

Colchester Skip Hire Gets (Weigh) Ready to Charge for Heavy Bins

Trade waste management specialists for over 34 years, Colchester Skip Hire (CSH) Environmental Ltd is installing bin-weighing equipment to its fleet of vehicles to identify  the heaviest loads and ensure that customers pay according to what they throw.

Mark Slade, Director, CSH Environmental said: “We have large number of customers but without the weigh load we can’t tell who has the heaviest or lightest loads. It’s only fair that those who throw away more, pay more. We don’t want customers with lighter loads subsidising those companies with the heaviest loads.”

A Fresh Start with Accurate Weighing from VWS

Manchester-based Fresh Start Waste provides waste collection, management and recycling services to businesses across the North West and uses weighing equipment from VWS to monitor customer loads and ensure accurate charging.

Viridor Turns to VWS for Skip Weighing Solution

Leading recycling, renewable energy and waste management company Viridor recently turned to Vehicle Weighing Solutions Ltd (VWS) to provide a solution when precise payload data (and a ticket) for every load collected by Boughton Skip Loaders was required by the customer.

Gary Elms, Regional Vehicle and Plant Engineer, Viridor said: “We approached Julian and he agreed to design a solution for us.  Under normal circumstances we use under-body weighing, but for this sewage waste contract, the customer needed to know exactly what was being collected from each site and each load, so we needed a different approach.”

VWS Launches Game Changing VWS PurGo Software at RWM 2015

British company Vehicle Weighing Solutions Ltd (VWS), well known for its super accurate ENVIROWEIGH bin-weigher, vehicle onboard weighing systems and weighbridges, is launching its new VWS PurGo software designed exclusively for waste and recycling operators at this year’s RWM exhibition. 

VWS joined forces with a software design company and created VWS Software Solutions with the aim of bringing a simplified software solution to the market place.

Weighing Boss Raises £3.5k in London to Paris Bike Ride

Julian Glasspole, Managing Director of Vehicle Weighing Solutions Ltd (VWS), has raised £3,500 for the Sue Ryder charity after taking part in a London Tower to the Eiffel Tower bike ride last weekend.

Julian and a group of waste industry colleagues departed from London’s Guildhall at 7am on Friday 3 July and arrived at the Eiffel Tower on Monday 6 July at 5.30pm having cycled approximately 350 miles.

Together the team managed to raise over £25k for assorted charities including the Lord Mayor’s Appeal 2015 and Hope House Children’s Hospices.

VWS Chief Cycles from London to Paris for Charity

Julian Glasspole, Managing Director of Vehicle Weighing Solutions Ltd, is joining a group of waste industry colleagues and cycling from the Tower of London to the Eifel Towner in Paris to raise money for charity.

The ‘Tower to Tower’ bike ride starts on 3 July 2015 and the cyclists will arrive at the Eifel Tower on 6 July 2015 after travelling nearly 300 miles.

Recycling Company Streamline with New Software

Equinox Recycling, a waste and recycling company in Kent, is saving time and money since switching its systems over to VWS PurGo, a new software package designed specifically for waste and recycling operators.

VWS PurGo is a simplified software solution based around streamlining processes from Sales through to Operations such as route scheduling, Admin, Billing and Reporting.
