VWS Chief Cycles from London to Paris for Charity
June 2015
Julian Glasspole, Managing Director of Vehicle Weighing Solutions Ltd, is joining a group of waste industry colleagues and cycling from the Tower of London to the Eifel Towner in Paris to raise money for charity.
The ‘Tower to Tower’ bike ride starts on 3 July 2015 and the cyclists will arrive at the Eifel Tower on 6 July 2015 after travelling nearly 300 miles.
After sadly losing a good friend to cancer and seeing the exceptional care given by a Sue Ryder Hospice Julian chose to take part in the event to raise money for the charity.
Julian said: “The amazing care my friend received meant that he could pass away with dignity with his loved ones by his side and this was only possible due to charity donations. My target is to raise at least £1000 and I’m hoping for a lot of support from my colleagues in the waste management industry.”
Julian added: “As well as raising some pounds I’m hoping to lose a few pounds of weight at the same time!”
Other charities that have also been nominated to benefit from funds raised by the cyclists include the Lord Mayor’s Appeal 2015, Hope House Children’s Hospices, Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research and the London Air Ambulance.
