VWS Focuses on Bin Weighing at WASTE

At the centre of their showcase on Stand M1 at WASTE ’15 (2 July AJ Bell Stadium, Salford) Vehicle Weighing Solutions Ltd will be demonstrating its ENVIROWEIGH bin-weighing system, still the most popular and accurate bin weigher for waste management operators. The company also promises to impress visitors with an exciting range of new and innovative products.

During the past 12 months VWS has developed its own software package, PurGo, designed specifically for the waste collection and recycling industry. 

VWS Bin Weighing Takes Centre Stage at PAWRS

Star of the show on the VWS stand at PAWRS 2015 (9-11 June, Paignton) will be ENVIROWEIGH – the bin-weigher –  still the most popular and accurate bin weighing system for waste management operators.  However, VWS will also be wowing visitors with an exciting range of new and innovative products.

Since last years show VWS has gone on to develop its own software package, PurGo, designed specifically for the waste collection and recycling industry.  When used in conjunction with VWS’ ENVIROWEIGH bin weighing system waste operators are able to streamline their operations, by identifying the heaviest bins and therefore bill accurately as well as provide better reporting for customers. The result can mean millions of £s worth of savings.

VWS Welcomes Municipal 'Old Hand' Norman Bowes

Newly appointed to the Sales Team at Vehicle Weighing Solutions Ltd (VWS), Norman Bowes has been working in the municipal vehicle sector for nearly 15 years.

Julian Glasspole, Managing Director, VWS said: “We are delighted to welcome Norman to the team.  Norman has been a friend for years and he is well known in the waste sector. He will be spending most of his time on the road visiting potential customers.”

Norman will be covering a large area from the Scottish borders down to Cornwall on the west side, incorporating the midlands.

Improving Tyre Safety & Performance with Portable Weigh Pads

Global tyre manufacturer, Cooper Tire and Rubber Company is relying on technology from leading UK vehicle weighing company Vehicle Weighing Solutions Ltd (VWS) to make sure its tyres comply with stringent tyre legislation and standards.

Cooper has recently purchased four APOLLO Portable Static PT300 high accuracy weigh pads from VWS to record the weight of vehicles prior to the rigorous testing of Cooper tyre products.

Vehicle Weighing Solutions Ltd (VWS), the market leader in vehicle onboard weighing and the company responsible for ENVIROWEIGH – the bin-weigher, is launching its latest Van Overload Protection System – VOPS2 – at the CV Show.

Alloy Bodies Invest in Weigh Pads to Ensure Vehicle Conformity

One of the UK’s largest commercial vehicle body builders, Alloy Bodies Ltd, Manchester, has invested in APOLLO PT300 portable weigh pads from Vehicle Weighing Solutions Ltd (VWS) to ensure its vehicles are not overloaded.

As part of the Whole Vehicle Type Approval (WVTA) scheme manufacturers are required to ensure that every product matches the specification, performance and marking requirements outlined in the documentation, also known as Conformity of Production. Alloy Bodies now has the ability to weigh its vehicles in-house prior to delivery.

Blakeley's Save £1m with Accurate Bin Analysis

Wigan-based Blakeley’s Recycling Ltd recently equipped its fleet of vehicles with dynamic bin-weighing and a new purpose-built back office system. As a result the company has managed to streamline its activities and improved its earnings by over £1m per year.

Blakeley’s was established over 25 years ago and offers a wide range of waste solutions throughout the North West of England. The company built a reputation for excellent service, however the increasing cost of waste processing, recycling and disposal in recent years was having a negative effect on the business’ bottom line.

VWS Lauches New Solar Powered Weigh Pad at the CV Show 2015

Vehicle Weighing Solutions (VWS) returns to The CV Show with a raft of new and improved products, including a solar powered version of its popular drive-on portable wheel weigh pad – the Apollo PT300.

With a capacity of 2,500kg to 12,000 kg per pad and an accuracy of +/- 1% the Apollo PT300 provides a simple, cable or cable-free, way to check vehicle weights. 

VWS Sponsors Safety Award at Tip-Ex 15

After a very successful show last year Vehicle Weighing Solutions Ltd (VWS) is returning to this year’s Tip-ex 15 exhibition and can be found on Stand C34 from 28-30 May at the Harrogate International Centre.  This year VWS is also sponsoring The Tipper Safety Award, the winner of which will be announced at a special awards ceremony as part of the show’s Gala Dinner on 29 May 2015 at Harrogate’s Majestic Hotel.

Whole Type Approval

Vehicle Weighing Solutions Ltd (VWS) bin-weighing and onboard weighing systems are now approved to comply with the new Whole Vehicle Type Approval regulations. This means that body builders can add a VWS system to their vehicles without it requiring further testing.

The No 1 vehicle weighing supplier for many local authorities and private contractors in the UK, VWS design and manufacture their own load cells and weighing systems and have received EMC (Electro Magnetic Capability) approval under ECE Regulation 10.04. VWS invested a significant amount of time, money and resources during the testing process to make sure its full range of underbody weighing, axle load protection and bin weighing systems are covered by the approval.

Norse Waste

Norfolk-based waste management provider Norse Waste Solutions (a subsidiary of Norse Commercial Services) has equipped its fleet of RCV’s with the ENVIROWEIGH bin-weigher from Vehicle Weighing Solutions Ltd (VWS) and tagged its bins with RFID (Radio-Frequency Identification) chips to closely monitor collections and help its customers improve their recycling efficiency.

The RFID tags enable the bin-weighing system sensor to identify what is being collected and from whom.  The data is then taken from the vehicle via SD card or can be transmitted over a telephone network and the files dropped into a report for environmental analysis.

Refuse Truck Boosts Waste Collections in Kenyan Slum

October 20, 2014

A refuse vehicle is on its way to one of the largest slums in Africa, Kibera in Kenya, to increase waste collections as part of a clean-up operation instigated by Devon Contract Waste (DCW) in 2012 and supported by organisations in the waste sector.

DCW donated the vehicle components, comprising a 7.5 tonne Isuzu chassis and an NTM body, which it then handed over to remanufacturing experts Refuse Vehicle Solutions Ltd (RVS).
