Axle Weighing Pads Verify Materials Composition for Pneutrol
December 2015

A market leader in the design, development and manufacture of industrial process control solutions is using portable weigh-bridges to verify materials produced by the Rapid International continuous mixing plants.

Pneutrol International Limited has purchased four sets of APOLLO PT300 portable static weighpads from Vehicle Weighing Solutions Ltd (VWS) to verify the weight and composition of different mixtures of Hydraulically Bound Materials used in the highways, construction, waste management and utilities sectors.

Greg McPherson, Managing Director, Pneutrol International Ltd said: “The weigh pads are highly accurate and can be moved from site to site, which is perfect to use with the mobile continuous mixing plant. Some of the sites are 60 miles from civilisation so we needed a solution that we could take anywhere.”

Greg continued: “We use the pads to check the weight composition of the finished product, once it has come off the conveyor belt and has been loaded onto a vehicle. The vehicle drives over the portable weigh pads and we verify the weight against electronic control systems on the machine. This serves to ensure the output of high quality, fit for purpose homogenous material at all times.”

Julian Glasspole, Managing Director, VWS said: “Our weighpads are suitable for many different applications and industries, and Pneutrol is a great example of their adaptability. Each pad can weigh up to 10,000 kg by 10kg and is highly accurate to within 1% of reading. They are easy to use and so lightweight they can fit into the boot of a car, yet they are very robust made from avionics grade aluminum alloy.”

Vehicle Weighing Solutions Ltd (VWS) is the UK market leader in on-board vehicle weighing, wheeled bin weighing and load protection systems. VWS belongs to a family of complimentary British companies known collectively as AW.co.uk specialising in the design, manufacture, installation and servicing of load cells, weighing and traffic monitoring systems.
