Enterprise Introduces Bin Weighing into Square Mile
July 2012
Both compartments on the capital’s new fleet of Geesink Plug-in Electric Multi-faction RCV’s have been fitted with the ENVIROWEIGH bin-weighing system from Vehicle Weighing Solutions, enabling Enterprise to provide accurate data and a more transparent service to its clients in the capital’s Square Mile.

Mick Aherne, Fleet Business Development Director, Enterprise said: “We are responding to increasing demand from clients in London who want to know exactly how much waste they are disposing of and what proportion is being recycled.  Corporate Social Responsibility, a drive to reduce their carbon footprint and the increasing cost of disposing of waste at landfill sites is providing a significant impetus for organisations to measure the whole life cost of their operations, including their waste.”

Mick continued: “We chose ENVIROWEIGH because not only does it offer superb accuracy and reliability, it is future-proof and allows us the option of developing into a paperless service.  We are already considering installing the system in other areas across the country.”

British company, Vehicle Weighing Solutions Ltd, the UK market leader in on-board vehicle weighing, wheeled bin weighing and load protection systems, is responsible for the design, manufacture and installation of ENVIROWEIGH – The Bin Weigher.

Julian Glasspole, Managing Director, said: “ENVIROWEIGH is the first truly British, dynamic, weights and measures approved bin weighing system.  Accurate to within 0.5% or better, it provides an unrivalled level of weighing accuracy, plus it will integrate with the latest software, GPS and telemetry technologies for remote monitoring purposes. We are delighted that Enterprise chose to use our system for the City and we look forward to working with them on other contracts in the future.”
