Applied Traffic Launches New Monitoring System at Intertraffic
March 2014
British traffic & vehicle monitoring solutions company, Applied Traffic, is launching its latest innovation in traffic data collection, the Bat-Box, at this year’s Intertraffic exhibition in Amsterdam (25-28 March).
The Bat-Box is an inconspicuous device, which is easy to install, user friendly and can be attached to existing street furniture. The radar detects and records the passage of motor vehicles and/or bicycles over a range of scenarios that include multi-lane highways, bi-directional traffic lanes, paths, lanes and cycle tracks. It classifies accurately in real time and is equipped with an integrated GSM/GPRS modem for streaming data, such as direction, lane, speed and length, to a back office computer, server or cloud based data storage system. Up to 600,000 individual vehicle records can be stored at one time. The system is ideal to provide research for planning applications and developments.
Alan Cook, Managing Director, Applied Traffic said: “We are delighted to be back at Inter traffic and with an exciting new range of products. The Bat Box is an exciting and innovative new product designed for a range of traffic monitoring applications and as an alternative to inductive loop based systems.”
Alongside the Bat-Box Applied Traffic will also be presenting for the first time its APOLLO range of British manufactured axle weighbridges. This next generation of in-motion and static axle by axle weighing systems offers slow speed and portable weighing solutions that are perfect for fleet operators and enforcement agencies.
The APOLLO Portable WIM weighbridge can fit into the back of a car and is perfect for operators who can’t have or don’t want a fixed weighbridge. It comprises two robust and easy to set up weighing platforms linked by Bluetooth to a battery-powered indicator. Accurate to within 2% it can weigh up to 16 axles at any one time and up to 30,000 kg per axle.
Julian Glass pole, Chairman, Applied Traffic said: “The accuracy of our APOLLO Axle Weighing systems is hard to beat plus it is easy to install and cost effective. A linked database facility means that our customers can store vehicle registrations against vehicle types to ensure the weight doesn’t exceed legal requirements.”
Applied Traffic was set up in 1998 and provides a complete range of traffic monitoring systems and services, including high speed weigh-in-motion with ANPR integration for automatic per-selection right through to non-intrusive above ground vehicle and cycle technology for safety camera partnerships and local authorities.
Applied Traffic belongs to a family of complimentary British companies known collectively as AW.co.uk specialising in the design, manufacture, installation and servicing of load cells, weighing systems and traffic monitoring systems.
