Vehicle Weighing Solutions Ltd (VWS) has been helping North London based waste management company, KP Waste, introduce a ‘pay as you throw’ service for customers, by installing the dynamic ENVIROWEIGH bin-weighing system to the company’s food waste collection vehicle operating in the City.
Kevin Hill, Managing Director, KP Waste said: “There can be a huge differential in the weight of different food stuffs filling the same bin and its unfair to charge customers the same. The bin weighing system from VWS is so accurate and it means we can do reports for our customers so they can compare their food disposal day by day and week by week.”
The company’s 7.5 tonne FARID minimatic vehicle has been specially adapted to incorporate a tipping mechanism for food waste and is perfect for underground collections with low ceiling loading bays. VWS also installed a four-camera CCTV system on the vehicle at no additional cost whatsoever to the client.
