An Intelligent Weighing System That Keeps Tippers Safe, Legal & Pinpoints Profits

May 2018

The country's market leading vehicle on-board weighing and axle load protection company, Vehicle Weighing Solutions Ltd (VWS) is showing off its popular Tipper weighing system - LOADWEIGH 4 - at Tip-ex Tank-ex 18.

The high accuracy system prevents overloading, and ensures vehicles are compliant, as well as operating safely and legally. LOADWIEGH 4 can be fitted to a wide range of commercial tipper and tanker vehicles, and enables operators to reduce the risk of vehicles ‘running light’.

The integral intelligent junction box assists with engineer diagnostics and helps to determine the stability of the load by indicating if the weight is held equally. The system comes with an on-board inclinometer that provides drivers with precise body incline information where and when it is needed.

Like all VWS products the load cells are manufactured here in the UK by VWS from British Steel, under full ISO 90001 Quality Assurance procedures.

Visitors will be able to see the system fitted to a Volvo 6x4 26t Super-Lite with Edbro CX13 tipping gear, provided by Charlton Bodies, on the VWS stand at the show.

Andy Gunn, Sales Director, Charlton Bodies: “It’s a popular system with our customers, because it’s reliable and the back-up service is excellent. An automatic message is sent to VWS is any of the load cells fail.

“Vehicles are getting heavier due to the additional componentry required in order to comply with the latest environmental legislation, such as DPF (Diesel Particulate Filters) and the use of AdBlu.  The system from VWS gives operators peace of mind knowing their drivers and vehicles are complying with the latest regulations, at all times, plus they can maximise their payload without risking being illegal. Keeping within safe limits also means that the amount of wear and tear on vehicle is reduced, so maintenance costs are reduced and the vehicle runs better, for longer.”
