2010-02-17 - Portable bin scales from VWS secures compliance for C&D contractors

Construction & demolition and hazardous waste regulations place obligations on contractors to measure and record wastes streams from construction sites. Much of the waste is hand sorted on-site, separated into wheeled bins and sent for recycling, recovery or disposal. The BinTrack portable scale from VWS is specifically designed for construction sites for weighing waste fractions such as copper wire and tracking wastes such as hazwastes which require a secure tracking route from source to disposal. With certain waste materials from brown field sites commanding good prices from, for example copper wire, much of it is processed and value extracted from its recovery. BinTrack from Vehicle Weighing Solutions is a portable scale for weighing wheeled bins, it comprises a pair of tracks and an indicator giving high accuracy weight measurement and control of waste materials removed from sites. Using rugged high accuracy weigh scales or mobile bin weigh systems, the 920i indicator has soft keys which enable an operator to easily in put the material or waste being collected or delivered, and additional soft keys to enter where it has originated from or who the client is. All this information is stored and can be easily printed out, down loaded or transferred. BinTrack can be used on a single 20 kg bin container or up to 20 tonne skips, either as a portable or permanently installed application, the 920i indicator and tracks can also be used on commercial waste collection rounds. - END -
